Your host, right next door
Personally hosted
Ruth came to Barbados in 1991 after a career in dance and acting in England. Her life here has moved through theatre, comedy, fashion, and—eventually—the ocean-view home that became Sea Mist.
She lives next door, welcomes guests personally when she can, and is known for helping with island ideas, drivers, taxis, and car rentals. That human welcome is every bit as important to Sea Mist as the view.
Barbados, made easy
English is the primary language, U.S. dollars are widely accepted, and the ocean stays warm year-round. Then there is the part that cannot fit on a checklist: morning surf, flying fish, music at Oistins, and the island's unmistakable rhythm.

Our home is across from the sea with an excellent view. The water is rough, so please swim at a designated beach.
We're in a quiet area about 2 km away from busses and taxi vans. Renting a car or hiring a taxi will make groceries, restaurants and island trips much easier.
We have friendly dogs who guard the property. Please be aware if you are allergic or don't like dogs.
The upper apartment has a staircase, and the lower apartment has several steps in front of the door. Please be aware if you're concerned about accessibility.
